Prescribing Ivermectin for COVID-19
HB 1514 was signed into law during ND’s 67th Legislative Special Session and bans the medical board from taking action against doctors or nurse practitioners who prescribe Ivermectin for COVID-19 and against pharmacists who fill the prescriptions. The original proposal also stopped pharmacists from denying prescriptions written by healthcare providers, but that provision, along with the allowance of patients in the hospitals the right to try Ivermectin and the protection from any discrimination of care against those without the shots, were unfortunately taken out of the bill.
Why was this bill needed?
Unfortunately, government-directed medical care that is influenced by the financial interests of pharmaceutical companies is being carried out by profit-focused hospital executives eager for the government handouts of incentive payments for following the ‘COVID Protocol'. In other words, profits over people. Safe, effective, and inexpensive therapeutics are being ignored or censored in favor of dangerous, ineffective, and expensive treatments. Patients are being denied the right to try the FDA approved, Nobel Prize winning medication that has been shown to be effective in treating COVID-19.
