A ND Business’s Appeal For A Ban On Vaccine Mandates

Open Letter to the North Dakota House and Senate Republican Leadership during the 67th Legislative Special Session from anonymous business leader:

To House and Senate Republicans:

Please make prohibition of vaccine mandates a priority for the interim session.

Leftists are aided by America’s biggest businesses, many of whom are already requiring proof of vaccination to retain or gain employment. Vaccine mandates are the American Marxists’ equivalent to the Chinese social credit score.

I represent a small North Dakota business, and I submit to you that small business owners in North Dakota need air cover from the North Dakota state legislature in the form of law prohibiting vaccine mandates in all forms in North Dakota. If the legislature is mute or soft on vaccine mandates, business owners are faced with resisting the forces of the federal government, the leftist media, and woke mega-businesses on their own.

Consider the pressure small businesses would soon face:

Want to do business with the federal government and certain state governments?    Mandate vaccines!

Want to subcontract to a government contractor?    Mandate vaccines!

Want to purchase health insurance for your employees?    Mandate vaccines!

Want to do business with a multinational corporation?    Mandate vaccines!

Want to take advantage of a tax incentive? A subsidy?    Mandate vaccines!

Want to ship your products across state lines?   Mandate vaccines!

With vaccine mandates America and North Dakota face a Rubicon moment. Where we arrive will become irrevocable and irreversible, and it will happen before the next regular Assembly.

If private employers (many of whom originate out of state) operating in North Dakota are allowed to require a North Dakotan to undergo a medical procedure to obtain employment, the list of subsequent offenses to individual liberty will balloon. Envision a future where a North Dakotan must acquiesce to the following employer demands to gain employment:

• Prove that you do not own firearms.

• Limit your public speech to only positions approved by your employer.

• Prove that you vote in accordance with the wishes of your employer.

• Prove that your children attend a sanctioned public school.

• Critical Race Theory training will become a standard requirement in every workplace.

• Submit to annual medical exams to ensure that you do not smoke, drink, overeat, are not a risk of cancer, heart disease, diabetes, or anything else that may raise the employer’s premiums.

• Sign a pledge(s) on a multitude of social justice issues, including a pledge that you will not evangelize Christianity.

Leftists are playing a serious game better than Conservatives. Knowing Republicans will always remain hands off with businesses, all they had to do was get a few major corporations (Media, Tech, Retailers, Health Care) to do Leftists’ bidding. It is working!  We see:

• Airlines, health care companies, and government contractors are already firing workers who refuse the vaccine.

• Vaccine status impacts where citizens can shop.

• So-called communications platforms censoring conservative political speech and the free exchange of health-related information.

• Health care corporations are firing doctors for using their own judgement to treat COVID-19.

• Conservatives are losing their jobs in the private sector due to their (protected) conservative speech. (Fergus Falls Surgeon)

All of this is happening without a federal law requiring vaccines. Right around the corner we should expect:

• Vaccine status will determine if you can travel, and where.

• Want to receive your government entitlements? You must be vaccinated!

• Tax exempt status (e.g., for churches, private schools) will be contingent upon vaccine mandates.

• Vaccine status will determine the level of education you can obtain.

• Vaccine status will be required for public school attendance, and parents who resist will face repercussions from law enforcement.

• Access to health care, police, and fire services will be denied for the unvaccinated.

IF YOU CAN SUBJUGATE ACCESS TO EMPLOYMENT TO A MANDATED MEDICAL PROCEDURE, YOU HAVE EFFECTIVELY OVERTURNED THE AMERICAN SYSTEM OF GOVERNMENT.

Do you think this is just about the virus?

Freedom leads to good business outcomes and good business rewards freedom; but business cannot be relied upon to defend freedom alone, AND IT NEVER HAS. Republicans cannot sacrifice individual liberties at the altar of business and continue to call themselves the party of Lincoln and Reagan.  Remember the 10th Amendment! The Bill of Rights! Follow the examples of Iowa, Texas, and Florida! Please make prohibition of vaccine mandates a priority for the interim session.
