Dangers of Masking Children

Challenges to the Efficacy and Necessity of Masks

  • Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) Network did a meta-analysis of 54 other peer-reviewed studies and found that household indoor transmission rates by asymptomatic COVID carriers was 0.7%. No masks were worn. Outdoor (symptomatic or asymptomatic) transmission rates were 0.1%. On surfaces it was 0.1%. It's not that chances of COVID-19 spreading in these ways is small. It's EXTREMELY small. People are not getting COVID-19 by asymptomatic transmission.

Ethical Considerations

  • Additional Points:

    • School children are being forcibly masked oftentimes by the very adults who go mask-free in their personal lives.

    • Teachers sometimes get more mask breaks than the students.

    • Forcibly masking someone else’s child usurps parental authority.  Does the child belong to the state or to the parents?

Masking in Schools

North Dakota schools usurped parental authority and showed little respect for the natural rights of parents to make health decisions for their own children when they mandated mask-wearing.

ACTION STEPS WHEN SCHOOLS MANDATE MASKS

  • The most important step parents can take is to stop complying with harmful and unethical policies. Supplying education leaders with resources and information to support the unmasking of students is an important step in advocating for your child, however, many of these leaders are committed to the belief that masks are necessary and no amount of data will change their minds. We must reassert our parental authority and stop asking the school board for permission to unmask our children.

  • Speak up and often. Attend every school board meeting and advocate for a change in policy. Supply school board members and decision makers with the following open letter and mask studies.

An Open Letter to Educational Leaders Who Advocate for the Forced Masking of Students:

We implore you to remove the mask mandate/ recommendation for students and teachers. It is critical that schools discontinue the usurpation of parental authority and respect the natural rights of parents to make health decisions for their own children. Despite loud protestations to the contrary, there is no justifiable reason to continue the unethical, unnecessary, and ineffective policy of forcibly masking children. There is, on the other hand, overwhelming scientific evidence and sound moral reasoning to support the unmasking of children. Regardless of whether masks work or not, parents alone hold the ultimate right to decide if their child’s face should be covered all day. Citizens should not have to co-parent with the CDC, with teachers unions, or with school board members as a condition of enrolling their child in school.

We have been told that children have been "resilient" in dealing with the untenable environment foisted upon them, but the truth is that we are instilling in our children a sense of neurotic fear whose consequences cannot be easily measured and will persist long after the pandemic wanes. There is no ethical justification to create a culture of fear about this virus in our young children. Asymptomatic transmission rates are extremely low in general, and they are extremely low from child to adult. Because children are thankfully at low risk of serious illness from COVID-19, it is not necessary to experiment on our youth and create potential long-term damage during these critical developmental years. The normalization of mask-wearing among children is not only harming them physically, emotionally, psychologically, and socially, it is making it exponentially easier for predators to get away with child abduction as both identities are easily concealed. Masks may allow some adults to feel safer, but that false sense of safety comes at a great price to our youth and the costs are long-lasting.

Over the past year and a half, both the scientific method and scientific integrity have been sacrificed at the altar of virtue- signaling and agenda-driven politics. This will inarguably have long-lasting and catastrophic implications. It is past time to break free from public health tyranny and to show strong, bold leadership by allowing our children to breathe freely as children should.

It’s time to get a second opinion.

It is important to note that Dr. Fauci, the CDC, and NDDOH are not the only authorities on COVID-19. There are many other well-respected opinions, many of which are being actively censored, which should raise significant alarm bells in a free society. In these unprecedented times, when our inalienable rights are being revoked, it is our responsibility as citizens to seek credible information and put children first instead of asking them to sacrifice their normal development for the sake of adults. Children should have the right to socialize normally and communicate freely without the undue responsibility of keeping adults safe from illness and death. They should also have the right to strengthen their immune systems naturally. This is especially critical for developing children, who need to be naturally exposed to viruses and bacteria in order to produce a resiliency that will stay with them during their adult years.

As you navigate the school year, please listen to/read opinions by non-government health experts as well as industrial hygienists - the true mask experts - and not rely solely on public health recommendations. Also important to note: there are no longer any executive orders in place that require quarantining as a result of a close contact. There are only recommendations from the CDC and NDDOH. No mandate. No law. Public health has absolutely no power to force schools to quarantine students.

It’s time to admit that masking children was a mistake. Unmask our children now.
