School Choice
It’s time to admit that the approach of giving government school a monopoly over federally funded education has led to a marked decline in the quality of American public education as well as the sexual, racial, and political grooming of our youngest citizens. It has impoverished public school curricula, first by purging it of a Biblical worldview, and then replacing it with a militantly secularist ideology, which is not at all neutral, but instead rivals the value system of many citizens. Parents wishing to opt out from government schools are subject to a harsh penalty in the form of private school tuition that most cannot afford or sacrificing employment or income in order to homeschool their children. As a result, our public schools have near complete control in the culture war over the moral formation of the next generation. It doesn’t have to be this way. Public funding of education does not require that instruction must be delivered by means of government-operated schools. The alternative is to have public funds follow each student, allowing the student and the parents to choose the educational environment that is best for them.
